Some Diamonds are not meant to be finished

Last night, in the depths of our small a-frame house, I heard a familiar "weekly announcement" spoken loudly, but Earnestly from the man I married. "WHY is there a glass of wine on the back of the toilet?" my reply: "AAHHHHHH... THATS where I left it!". This of course is hours after I poured a fresh glass. This event happens at least once a week. My sweet life coach has successfully convinced me to start using our treadmill. it took me 20 minutes of hard labor to unload all the storage boxes off, and then another 10 minutes to wipe off all the accumulated dust. after working up a sweat doing so, I had hoped documenting those actions would count towards my exercise time. (it did not.).

I will let you decide which next event was funnier....

#1.... Jerry hearing my moaning as I'm struggling to breathe on the second lowest speed,

#2. .. Watching the look of curiosity (and horror) on the cats faces as they witness me walking to nowhere on a piece of furniture they always believed was a junk holder..... or ...

#3... The sight of me after turning both treadmill "fans" on, forgetting that there was 5-years of accumulated dust in each one. In an instant, A cloud of dust, mystery powder, and cobwebs blasted out and stuck to my sweaty face.

After several minutes of "unladylike" verbal anger....the cats quickly disappeared and I could hear muffled chuckling from behind Jerry's closed - office door. As I’m picking dead bug corpses from my wet, sweaty face, I had a flashback of all the "Classical Finishing Training" my (Mensa-member) mother tirelessly gave her 3 children so we would flourish in polite society. One is a Diplomat living in Africa , another a linguistics teacher living in Italy. Bless her soul for trying her best with me.

Admittedly, I am the “unfinished” diamond of the 3 siblings. if you asked me to describe myself I would pause and then say……” AS IS!~” That being said, I Do wish I had paid more attention when shown how to use the treadmill, or at least applied more critical thinking before i turned on the fans. “We” have decided It would be best for all involved if I " held off" joining a public gym..

I might not have started this road to wellness on the right foot, but I did learn one IMPORTANT thing...… a Wine glass fits perfectly in the cup holder on the treadmill.~
